A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at Barron Funeral Home with Pastor Marty Roberts officiating. Interment was private.

CHESTER — Robert Delano McCollum, 58, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at Atrium Health Main.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at Barron Funeral Home with Pastor Marty Roberts officiating. Interment was private.
Del was born Oct. 22, 1965, in Savannah, GA, the son of Robert Eugene McCollum and the late Billie Ann Steinkuhler McCollum. He attended the schools of Newberry County and was employed with Catawba Plastics in maintenance. He loved music and his dog “Deacon.” Del was a dedicated worker and was devoted to his family; he was a jokester and loved a good laugh. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Great Falls.
He is survived by his wife of over 19 years, Patricia Wishert McCollum; three children, Buddy McCollum of Edgemoor, and Parker and Hunter McCollum, both of Great Falls; his father, Bob McCollum and his wife Linda of Newberry; brother, Sam McCollum of Dallas N.C.; and one nephew, Jacob McCollum of Dallas, N.C.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Patricia McCollum.
