  • Students learn about careers through chamber members

    The Chester County Chamber of Commerce board of directors held the first of several meetings away from the chamber office in the Great Falls Complex Media Center at Great Falls Middle/High School on Monday, May 14. 

    When Abby Brunson took over as board chair in January, she stated that one of her goals was to rotate some of the board meetings around the county.

  • Festival offerings to include toys, jewlery, pet items

    Vendors will offer a variety of items during the 35th annual Flopeye Fish Festival. Some of the items include:

    • Carolina Home Remodeling: Information.

    • Shuckasoapo: Handmade soaps, handmade lotions, bubble bath, scrubs, candles, other bath and body products, pet shampoo and liquid and bath bombs.

    • Christ Family Center: Monogram letters (single and circle), T-shirts, plaques, flags, stands and wreath holders.

    • Kids Play: Sand art, duck pond, high striker, spinning wheel and a basketball game.

  • Wings, burgers, fish, pizza and more

    There will most certainly be something to suit your appetite at the 35th annual Flopeye Fish Festival. Vendors will offer hamburgers, chicken, fish, pretzels, shrimp and much more. Check out the listing below:

    • Fresh-N-Ready: Chicken wings, hamburgers, nachos, hot dogs, fries, pulled pork, lemonade, water and sodas.

    • Aloha Sno: Shaved ice, cotton candy, popcorn and pretzels.

  • Flags to honor fallen veterans

    The Veterans of Valor project to decorate the graves of fallen veterans is coming into the home stretch.

    Dana Greenleaf and Millard Smith have identified the graves of over 500 veterans in the cemeteries in Great Falls. They are now in the process of placing a small piece of pipe at each grave to hold the flags on Memorial Day.

  • Fish, fries and fritters at 35th Flopeye Fish Festival

    It’s festival time!

    The 35th annual Flopeye Fish Festival in on tap for this weekend.

    Festivities will kick off around 5 p.m. Friday with carnival rides and a dance.

    The dance will feature a disc jockey playing a variety of music.

    Organizers Todd Wright and Kathy Hinson said they asked Great Falls High School seniors what they wanted for entertainment at the festival and they chose a disc jockey.
