Woman charged with having sex with inmate, aiding escape

A woman who was contracted as a nurse at the Chester County Detention Center has been arrested and charged with multiple charges that she allegedly had sex with a Chester County inmate and aided him in his escape, taking him off the premises on three separate occasions.

According to the release of an incident report and arrest warrants from the Chester County Sheriff’s Office, investigators from the office received an email on Monday stating ‘an incident between an inmate at the Chester County Detention Center and a contract employee had occurred.’ The incident report identified the inmate as Sean Kenneth Lyles, 33 of Moncks Corner, S.C.

The warrants state that Katherine Leann Heckman of Chester, 38, had sex with Lyles ‘on several separate occasions.’

Following this investigation the Sheriff’s Office arrested Heckman. She has been charged with two counts of first degree sexual misconduct with an inmate and two counts of aiding an escape. Bond has been set for Heckman at a total of $24,000 for all charges.

Lyles was a state inmate. He has been charged with two additional charges of attempted escape and a bond has been set for $30,000.
