Sheriff's office finances subject of audit

-A A +A
By Travis Jenkins

It won’t be cheap to audit all the accounts of the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.

“But it’s worth it,” said Chester County Councilman Alex Oliphant.

Included in the new Chester County budget for the coming fiscal year is $25,000 to conduct a full audit of the sheriff’s department finances. During recent budget discussion, interim Sheriff Max Dorsey asked Chester County Council to allot the money. Treasurer Tommy Darby said he had met with auditors who detailed for him that the audit will take place in stages.
