Roddey will not seek eighth term as probate judge

-A A +A
By Brian Garner

Long-serving Chester County Probate Judge Lois H. Roddey announced on Monday she would not be seeking an eighth term as head of the Probate Court.

In an exclusive interview with The N&R, Roddey said she had been thinking about her re-election and her family convinced her it was time to hang up the probate judge robe.

Roddey has been in the Probate Judge’s office since 1974, when she served as deputy probate judge alongside Judge Ed Harden. When Harden retired, Roddey was elected probate judge in 1991, a post she has held to the present.
