The City of Chester won’t be starting the summer off with a bang, it will be more of a boom.
Once again this year, the city will stage its “Red, White and Boom” festival at Joe Collins Stadium on the old fairgrounds. This marks the sixth-straight year that Chester will celebrate the Independence Day with fireworks and other attractions. The event was restarted in 2012 after a few years of dormancy brought on by budget troubles. The city has had some financial struggles recently, but got a boost this year from the county.
