Chester man drowns in Fairfield

A Chester man drowned in Fairfield County over the weekend.
The body of Jonathan Andrew Kornegay, 24, of West White Street in Chester, was recovered Saturday evening after he disappeared on Saturday afternoon.
According to Fairfield County Coroner Barclay Ramsey, Kornegay was swimming at a recreation area in Lake Monticello with friends when he swam over the ropes and into an area where swimming is prohibited.
"Apparently, he got caught up in the weeds and he drowned," Ramsey said.
