The Chester High boys basketball team recently had its awards ceremony and given the season the Cyclones put together, there was a lot of hardware to hand out.

T.J. Hollis was named the team’s MVP but was also named All-Region, All-Area and All-State. He led Chester in scoring at 20 points-per-game while also contributing five rebounds and four assists per contest. Quay Hardin was named the team’s most valuable defensive player and was picked for the All-Region team after posting averages of 17 points, six rebounds and three steals-per-game.

Other team awards included Dorrien Bagley (Best All-Around), Leon Goldsborough (Offensive MVP), Keith Mobley (Most Improved), Pha’Leak Brown (Sixth Man Award) and Kenard Young (Senior Award).

Chester won a region championship and advanced to the third round of the playoffs this season.
