    Terrance Morris will start the 2015 season right where he ended the 2014 campaign...on an all-conference team.

  • Downey, Brown picked for Gamecock HOF

    Both have already been honored by their high school alma maters and now two all-time greats from Chester County will be honored by their college alma mater.
    The University of South Carolina Association of Lettermen elected eight new members to the USC Athletic Hall of Fame for 2015, it was announced Tuesday morning. A quarter of that class hails from Chester County as Chester High graduate Devan Downey and Lewisville product Sheldon Brown were both included on the list.

    For the past four years, Austin Kerr has carved up opposing college line-ups. Right now he struggling to carve up a piece of chicken.
    On May 8, in the third inning of a game against Liberty, Kerr, a senior left handed pitcher and first team all-conference pick at Coastal Carolina, felt some tightness in his elbow.

  • Season ends for Chants, Kerr

    Coastal Carolina's 14th trip to the NCAA postseason ended Sunday afternoon with an 8-1 loss to top seed and sixth-ranked Texas A&M (47-12) at the NCAA College Station Regional at Blue Bell Park.
    The Chanticleers, seeded second at the Regional and ranked 25th, end the season with a 39-21 record and were nationally ranked in each of the last nine weeks of the season.
    The Aggies jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first. Ryne Birk hit a one-out double and scored on an RBI single by Logan Taylor. Nick Banks followed with an RBI double off the left-center field wall.

  • Kerr, Chants, advance to post-season

    The regular season ended with Austin Kerr earning first-team all-conference honors. The post-season could end with his team winning a national title.
    The Coastal Carolina baseball program will be the  number two seed and face number three seed California on Friday (May 29) at 1 p.m. eastern time in the NCAA College Station Regional (played at Blue Bell Park), it was announced Monday on a national ESPNU telecast. The Chanticleers found out their postseason fate as the team hosted a watch party at Handley's Pub and Grub.

    Chester High School graduate Austin Kerr is going out in style.
    Kerr, a senior at Coastal Carolina University was named a first-team Big South All-Conference player on Monday.

  • Lancers, Williford, moving on

    The 2015 University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers’ baseball team earned its place in history for USCL athletics as the program celebrated its first NJCAA Region X tournament title on Tuesday, May 5.
    The Lancers completed a stellar four-game sweep in the double-elimination tournament as they defeated USC Sumter, 10-6 in Burlington, N.C.
    Sumter built a 6-0 lead after four frames, but determined USCL answered with 10 unanswered runs to take the comeback win and the crown at Burlington Athletic Stadium.
