  • Ms. Sara E. Croft, 78

    COLUMBIA – A memorial service for Ms. Sara Elizabeth Croft will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Incarnation Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kris Litman-Koon officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 in Chester Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jeff Gulish officiating.

  • Mrs. Dora B. Moye, 86

    CHESTER – Dora Bass Moye, age 86, passed away July 25, 2016. She was the widow of Albert William Moye, Sr. and the daughter of the late Brown W. and Mabelle Scales Bass.

    Mrs. Moye attended West Side Baptist Church and she was retired from Bi-Lo. She is survived by one daughter, Debra Dove (Scott Helms) of Chester; three grandchildren, Martin Eric Hamrick, Haley Rae Dove and Nick Moye; one daughter-in-law, Janet Moye. She was preceded in death by one son, William (Billy) Moye, Jr.

  • Mr. Francis Marion Campbell Jr., 87

    PLANO, TEXAS – Francis Marion Campbell, Jr. age 87, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Baylor Regional Medical Center in Plano, Texas. A graveside service was held on Monday, July 25, at 12 noon with Rev. Eric Shepard officiating at Chester Memorial Gardens located at 945 West End Road, Chester, SC 29706. Visitation was held on Sunday evening, July 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Barron Funeral Home located at 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC 29706.

  • Mr. James Peake Jr., 45

    CARLISLE ­– Mr. James Peake Jr., 45, of 5518 Woods Ferry Road, Carlisle, died Monday, July 25, 2016 as the result of a car accident.

    Arrangements will be announced later by King’s Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

    The family will receive friends at 668 Pine Ridge Road, Chester.

  • Mrs. Vera McManus Loving, 95

    CHESTER – Vera McManus Loving, age 95, passed away July 24, 2016 at Hospice and Home Care in Rock Hill. She was the widow of Calvin Loving. Mrs. Loving was born in Lancaster to the late Vernon and Cora Talbert McManus. She was retired from the Katherine Plant of Springs Industries and she was a member of West Side Baptist Church.

  • Ms. Christina L. Surratt, 60

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The funeral service for Ms. Christina Linda Surratt of Charlotte, NC will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 12 noon at The Place of Grace United Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte with Rev. Terrance Grooms delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery in Charlotte.

    Ms. Surratt died Monday, July 18, 2016. She was 60.

    She was a daughter of Eva Land Surratt of Charlotte.

    Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

  • Mr. JC ‘Sonny Boy’ Bowler, 67

    CHESTER – The funeral service for Mr. JC “Sonny Boy” Bowler Jr. of 303 Ashford St., Chester will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Andre Showers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

    Mr. Bowler died Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Chester Regional Medical Center. He was 67.

    Viewing will be held from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday, July 22, at King’s Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

    The family will receive friends at the home.

  • Mr. Frances Marion Campbell Jr., 87

  • Mrs. Wilma T. Duncan, 79

    HENDERSONVILLE, NC – Wilma T. Duncan, 79, died peacefully Friday, July 15, 2016 after a brief illness. Wilma was born Aug. 24, 1936 in Blair, Fairfield County, South Carolina. Wilma was preceded in death by her loving parents, Thomas Cleveland Traylor and Fannie Louise Feaster; two brothers, Tommy and Donald; two sisters, Mary Alice and Emily; her loving husband, Donald Bruce Duncan; and her beloved son, Clifton Reid Duncan.  

  • Mrs. Vercie W. Harvey

    TRENTON, N.J. – The funeral for Mrs. Vercie Wylie Harvey of Trenton, N.J. and formerly of Chester will be held on Wednesday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will follow in Colonial Cemetery.

    Mrs. Harvey died Wednesday, July 13, 2016.
