A pair of Great Falls football standouts will be solidifying their college futures today.
Ernest Talford will sign with the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis and Cody Mobley will ink a deal with Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C.
Talford, who starred at running back, linebacker, safety and as a kick returner for Great Falls, was a Shrine Bowl selection in December. Talford led Great Falls this past season with 17 touchdowns. Talford is also a starter for the Red Devils' top-ranked basketball team.
Mobley had a huge season as Great Falls' punter. Not only did his 48.74 yard punting average lead the state, it was the second best average in the entire country according to MaxPreps.com. He had a season-long punt of 74 yards and put 43 percent of his kicks inside the opponents 20. He also handled all kicking duties for Great Falls and was among the national leaders in touchbacks. Mobley also plays on the Red Devils' baseball team.
The two will sign at an 11 a.m. ceremony today at the school.
