RICHBURG – Mr. Charles "Pop" Bernat, 70, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. He was a resident of Chester Nursing Center and was known by many there as "Chuck."
Mr. Bernat was born in Washington, Penn., the son of the late Charles and Virginia Polanski Bernat. He was retired from Winn Dixie. He was a Catholic and had been unable to attend church recently because of declining health.
