Her season is over, but the awards will likely continue to roll in for Deja Marshall.

Marshall, the Chester High School graduate who is in her freshman year at Spartanburg Methodist College, was named the Region X Conference Player of the Year. The Lady Pioneers struggled to an 11-16 finish (but did manage a second-place finish in their conference tournament) but Marshall was a bright spot all season long. For the year, she averaged 15.4 points a game (first on the team), shot 50.3 percent from the field (second highest on the team), pulled down 6.3 rebounds a contest (second on the team), had 1.2 assists (second on the team) and 2.6 steals a contest (first on the team).

Marshall helped Chester High to multiple playoff appearances during her prep career. She ended with more than 1,000 career points and had a career-high 45 against Union County during her senior season.
