Historical Society seeks to ID subjects in Nichols photos

There is a stool in the Chester County Historical Society Museum that at one time, was warmed by every behind in Chester County who sat for a portrait made by renowned photographer Henry Orion Nichols, called simply, “Mister Nichols” by many who knew him. “Mister Nichols also copied and restored a lot of older family photographs in his Chester studio. Now the Historical Society is seeking help with identifying people in the Nichols portraits and in some of the copies of restored photos he kept in negative form.
