Anointed Church of God
Advent season celebrated at 10 a.m. Sundays. Each Sunday a candle will be lit representing the prophecy, Bethlehem, the shepherds, angels and the birth of the Christ Child. Public invited. Church is at 238 Gadsden St.

Armenia UMC

Battered But Not Broken Ministries
• On the first Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Battered But Not Broken will hold Let's Talk Chester County at 564 York Road. Parents and guardians are invited to discuss events going on in the schools, such as bullying and more.

Calvary Baptist, Walnut Street
Classical holiday concert, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26. Harpist Angelica Hairston will perform classical selections along with some holiday favorites. Hairston is a junior at Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada. She is the daughter of Rawn and Sheila Hairston of Atlanta and the granddaughter of the late Alexander and Rosaline Johnson of Chester. She will perform a duet with S.C. Rep. Joseph Neal (District 70), also pastor of Calvary Baptist, and her sister, flutist Maya Nesbit. Bassist Eric Thompson of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and his wife, violinist Michelle Thompson, will also perform. Percussionist DeJuan "Quay" Clifton, 10, will perform during the prelude accompanied by keyboardist Larry Ingram. Magistrate Judge Angel C. Underwood will be mistress of ceremonies. No charge for admission but donations accepted to be given to Calvary in honor of the late John H. Underwood. No small children due to audio/video recording.
